Thoughts on this year's ChrisMix

Well, If you have come this far into cyberspace to share your thoughts on this mix then you are either a dear friend, a fellow music nut or, both. In any case, Thanks!

Live With Me...to kick things off right Mr. Charlie's R&B drive was just the ticket! - Although not toooo Christmassy I love Mick's line: "My best friend, he shoots water rats and feeds them to his geese"

Day After Day...been on a Chrissie kick ever since I saw The Pretenders play at Verizon this summer (along with the Stray Cats & ZZ Top...but more on them later)

For Your Life...first time this gem has EVER been played live: London 12/10/07 God Bless you Ahmet Ertegün!

Satisfied...Sgt. Hilka sent me a copy of these guys - WOW! what an apt title; by the end of that number I IS quite Satisfied. Keep 'em coming Johnny!

It Really Is (A Wonderful Life)...thanks to Kevin Hotz (host of the inevitable "Just Ask Kevin" radio call-in show) who hooked me up with Paste Magazine. Each issue contains a CD sampler...nice Hoilday segue into a more mellow section.

Thank You...from Spearhead's slightly preachy but unabashedly groovaliscious 2001 concept album "Stay Human" thanks for the copy Rob & Anna

Can You Get To That...George Clinton's gang circa '71 proving there is more to Funkadelic than infectious grooves

When you base your love on credit
And your loving days are done
Checks you signed with a-love and kisses
Later come back signed "insufficient funds"

thanks to Henry Coy for giving this to brother Doug

Debris...Rod wasn't the only singer in this good timing band which reminds me of a British version of the Meters...we miss you Ronnie, what soul!

Wham...when it's time to pick up the pace again who better than Stevie Ray. In this Lonnie Mack cover he uses every trick in the book!

Pulp Wood...while in the instumental rockin' blues mode we trots out another SRV influence.

Tush...See you at the Rods and Cones reunion at the Noodle on the 27th!

Hot Pants...still the Godfather of Soul (he was SuperBad last year)

Fire In The Hole...Doug E. Fresh WILL play this Thelonius Monk style number in '08 or I'll break his damn fingers...love this song...now who's gonna play the pedal steel part?

Que Nadie Sepa Mi Sufrir... Don't know what all Mr. Hidalgo is singing here but you can sure sense "no one knows the way he suffers!" & what picking...Viva Los Lobos!

Somethings Gotta Give...AlG came back from The Vogue all abuzz about & I thank him for the copy of this John Butler Trio

I Call On You...Reminds me of Matthew Sweet: tight harmonies, sweeping backing vocals, simply a great pop song repleate with the obligatory SGL. Thanks "Dollar Bill" Adams for spinning "Girlfriend" all those years ago & if you're wondering "Cracker Where Art Thou"? keep listening...(ahh, the old Kerosene Hat Trick)

The Song Remains The Same...Speaking of Searing Guitar Leads, how could I resist another Zep. This one newly remastered & fresh from Warrenville, thanks TDog..."we know your smokin' wherever you are"

Back In Our Minds...no one plays the musical saw (or says "we are") like Funkadelic!

Here at SuperRad Records we are flush the Kaizen spirit! So in our effort for "continuous improvement" please do comment..."we'll try to do better next time...good night Canada"
